Description: The City of Cedar Park is seeking qualified individuals for Crime Scene Evidence Technician. Under the direction of the Evidence and Property Supervisor, the Crime Scene Evidence Technician shall be responsible for processing all aspects of crime scenes to include, collection of evidence, photographic imaging of the crime scene, documentation of evidence and submission of evidence to crime laboratory(ies). The Crime Evidence Technician duties also include assisting the Evidence and Property Supervisor with planning, organizing, storing and processing evidence maintained in the Property Control Section in accordance with State laws, City ordinances and Department policies and procedures.
Location: Cedar Park, TX
Salary Range: Hourly range $18.30 – $22.33 depending upon qualifications

Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or GED with two (2) years of experience in an evidence and property capacity with a law enforcement agency. Must have knowledge of evidence and property control function. Must possess a valid Texas Driver’s License and Certificate from Texas Association of Property and Evidence Inventory Technicians (T.A.P.E.I.T.) or have the ability to obtain certificate within 12 months. This position will be assigned the afternoon shift with some weekends. Candidates must have the ability to respond within thirty minutes to after hour call outs.
